Fairfield Boathouse

We had a lovely adventure day on tuesday!! The sun was shining and we set out for places as yet unknown. We wanted to be out in the beautiful weather, we wanted to do something and we wanted to gather acorns, so we decided Fairfield Boathouse ticked all the boxes. And we were rewarded with a wonderful day. Have you been there? If not, choose a sunny day and just go!!

We had scones on the verandah...

Then we hired a row boat for an hour or two....

We fed the ducks, we gathered acorns and we will definitely be back again

A Day Out In The City

The sun was shining this morning, the holidays are almost over and the house is a mess. What a great day to leave it all behind and head off on a random adventure! We caught the train to the city, the kids exited by the amount of graffiti they could see. (They have had a game of "spot the graffiti" happening in the car the last few weeks.) We hopped on a little tourist boat down the river towards the Bolte Bridge. They tell me they've never been on a boat before. I think they're right! It was great...

New Look

I've changed my look! Do you like it? I am really bad at working these things out. I can't work out how to get rid of the brown date. I think I will keep playing with it... Another day though. Today we have glorious sunshine and I am getting out there!!!

Finishing the blanket!!

I have finished the granny squares!! (Thanks to Meet Me At Mikes ) Now the process of putting it together. I have found a great way to do it (via Attic24 ). Last night I sat down to work on it and could not find my lovely blue hook anywhere!! Hunted the house, gave it up for lost. I looked on eBay and bid on a colorful set of 12 for 99c!! Half an hour later I had won them and they are on the way. This morning I quizzed the kids about it... Miss E thought Mr N knew something about it!! "No... I don't remember." Said Mr N. The TV went off until his memory was jogged. Amazing!! Suddenly remembered it was in a secret drawer of his tool box. You never know when you might need a crochet hook apparently!

Hungry chooks

It's a fine but windy day today. The chooks are sticking their head through the doggy door, inviting me outside. I need to rush my washing so it can get dry before the rain comes.
Wondering why I haven't posted anything lately? Well, I haven't been particularly inspired or inspiring lately. Just a phase I think. I have finished all the granny squares I need, now I have to work out how to join them together. Maybe that will be a more inspiring post? Or maybe one about laziness? More later....
